THE MIRÓ-ROYO TAPESTRY, A GREAT GIFT

In 1993, Joan Miró’s family donated a unique tapestry to Mont-roig, which is now on display in one of the chapels of the Cultural Centre of the Old Church. Made by Josep Royo in 1989, this tapestry is based on the artist’s original drawings, capturing the essence of his creative universe.

The colours that define his work are present: the red of the land of Mont-roig, the blue of its sky, the green of the carob trees, the yellow of the flowers and the black, which provides balance.

A piece of Miró’s soul that continues to beat in Mont-roig.
