Meeting point in the daily life of yesterday’s Mont-roig. Its ponds were the main place where the women of the village washed and rinsed their clothes. They are supplied with water from the Les Hortes mine, which has traditionally been used to irrigate the different orchards in this area as well as the old medieval mill, where flour was ground before becoming a private home.
The washing machines are documented from the eighteenth century and have undergone major reforms – the last one in 1991 – currently only one of the blenders is covered where you can wash clothes, but before both were covered. The laundry facilities are located near the Canal portal, one of the old entrances to the village.
From the washhouses you can continue the discovery of the municipality of Mont-roig along different paths.
