Mont‐roig, located between the sea and the mountains, has been able to find in this flat land the ideal place to grow all varieties of Mediterranean trees: olive, almond, hazelnut, carob, as well as vineyards, and also has a large irrigated area where all kinds of vegetables are grown: artichokes, lettuce, onions, tomatoes.

The proposed excursion passes through many of these changing crops during each time of the year, conferring a landscape of contrasting colors. The ochre of the hazelnut leaves of autumn, the pink of the almond blossoms of February, the explosion of colours and shades of spring and summer.

The most important crop today in Mont‐roig is the olive tree, marketed under the Designation of Origin Oli de Siurana, it has exceptional qualities thanks to the climate that the lands of Mont-roig give it.

The hundred-year-old olive trees of Mont‐roig are a visual pleasure for the passer-by. Its bark and curly branches are interspersed to give strength to the fruit that will ripen on the tree until October, when it is time to harvest and extract the precious golden liquid that will captivate all palates.

Incredible as it may seem, thanks to the abundance of water from springs and mines, rice was grown in the municipality, being the only place where it was cultivated in Catalonia at the beginning of the nineteenth century.
