Weaving memory and the Paradigm of Freedom, by the artist Mariona Roigé Salvadó, opens the new exhibition season at the Església Vella Cultural Centre in Mont-roig del Camp
Through contemporary tapestry and the technique of overweaving, the artist transforms ropes and textile materials into shapes, lines and volumes to reflect on Republican memory, the Civil War and freedom, with a particular focus on the experiences of women militiamen, teachers, intellectuals and women in the rearguard.
The project was born from the desire to recover and transmit a memory that does not want to be forgotten, turning weaving into an act of memory and resistance in the face of oblivion.
The exhibition will be visitable until 27 September 2026 at the Església Vella Cultural Centre.
